ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR

Summary

Ocean’s Edge School of Worship was founded with a specific purpose to provide training and education for the next generation of worship leaders, Christian musicians and artists. Based out of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, we provide an environment combining personal mentoring and discipleship with modern music, technology and leadership training in an approach that will equip students for a lifetime in ministry.  Personal development is at the core of everything we do. Spiritual lessons are best learned by experience and Oceans Edge School has been built from the ground up to be that place of challenge and change for each student. A spiritually mature staff, God-centered curriculum, and structured mentorship program all work together to achieve our mission – to make disciples.

Currently in our 13th year, Ocean’s Edge has equipped over 300 next generation leaders from all over the United States, throughout Europe and Southern America. 

Purpose Statement:

This position manages all areas of development and operations for the admissions and recruiting process of Ocean’s Edge School of Worship.

Scope:  

This position primarily coordinates all aspects of admissions ensuring that all students are ushered in, admitted, and enrolled effectively and efficiently through the application process.  This person serves as a central, first point of contact to parents, students, and staff.  Secondarily, this position provides administrative support for the school in project management and tuition/financial areas, as well as administrative support for the Director.  Finally, this position will interface and build relationships through Church United and professional recruiting visits to create relational pathways for ministry leaders to learn about the program (Christian Schools, Pastors, Youth Pastors, etc).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Shepherds students and parents through the application process and facilitates questions related to the academic, social, cultural, financial, and spiritual environments of Ocean’s Edge.

  • Schedules interviews and auditions for all prospective students.

  • Performs administrative tasks as needed including check requests, credit card reports, scheduling of meetings, appointments and reminders, and management of calendars, student forms and assisting with project management as needed.

  • Manages Ocean’s Edge School of Worship’s learning management system (LMS), Populi, which includes course listings, course schedules, registration periods, and tuition management.

  • Assigns and manages tasks to work-study students as needed.

  • Works closely to develop rapport with other departments at Calvary Chapel and establishes and maintains an active communication flow with worship leaders, pastors, guidance counselors, schools and youth pastors in the surrounding community as needed.

  • Researches, designs and implements recruitment initiatives by developing recruitment strategies that include regular visits to high schools, college fairs, youth groups, churches and conferences.

  • Conducts campus tours for campus visitors and manages preview days for incoming students, parents, or recruiting employers. 

  • Presents weekly reports related to recruitment strategies, admissions projections, and financial breakdown.

  • Disciples and mentors students as necessary

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

  • Excellent communication skills (via phone, written and in-person).

  • Strong ability to cultivate relationships with prospective students, parents, recruitment associates and fellow co-workers.

  • Self-Starter, driven by the vision and mission of the OES.

  • Ability to clearly and persuasively articulate Ocean’s Edge vision and offerings to prospective students, parents and recruitment relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems independently.

  • Demonstrated ability at planning and organizing multiple projects and tasks.

  • Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures.

  • Great organizational, clerical and computer skills.

  • Knowledge of computers and various programs including: Outlook, Work, Excel, and Access

  • Developed mentoring skills.

  • A strong commitment to the Statement of Faith and philosophy of Calvary Chapel.
