Due to Ocean Edge’s affiliation as a ministry of Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale, students will find a wide variety of ministry opportunities readily available including:

Ocean's Edge Music

At Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, we believe that praise and worship are an active, dynamic, integral link between God and His people. This ministry seeks to serve Him humbly in a spirit of excellence through music and to lead others into His presence so that we glorify God as one body with one voice through one Spirit.  Ocean's Edge music is our worship ministry that includes a record label, a state of the art recording studio, resources for churches such as charts, seminars, song books, and web based instructional videos as well as their original recordings.

Family Ministry
The Family Ministry supports the families of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale by providing training and counseling in a Christ-centered environment. Worship services and teachings are uniquely targeted for children, middle schoolers, and high school students. This ministry serves not only families within our church, but also children and families throughout our community.

DJJ (Department of Juvenile Justice)
Through weekly Bible studies, this ministry offers guidance and support to residents of various juvenile facilities throughout Broward County. After youth are released, our volunteers often continue contact, offering support as needed.

Foster Care
The Foster Care Ministry recruits families who want to open their homes and hearts to abused, abandoned, or neglected children who are in the custody of the Department of Children & Families (DCF) and need temporary foster care or adoption.

4KIDS of South Florida
4KIDS of South Florida, Inc. (4KIDS) was developed with four things in mind—the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the children in Broward County’s foster-care system. From the moment children are removed from their families, we meet those needs by demonstrating the love of God. Our goal is to protect, provide, and offer permanent solutions for these children and their families so they can be reunited and have a hopeful future.

His Caring Place
His Caring Place provides a safe harbor for pregnant teenagers who are facing their pregnancies alone. This ministry supports two residential homes: one for the mothers to finish out their pregnancies and the other to transition new mothers and their babies into independent living.

The staff of His Caring Place offers guidance and support to help these expectant moms toward adoption or parenting. More importantly, each girl is taught that the Lord cares for her and her baby and that He has a purpose and a plan for both of their lives.

Adoption 4KIDS
If you are a birthmother or an adoptive family, there are important things to consider before you begin the adoption process. This is where Adoption 4KIDS comes in. We match courageous birthparents with committed Christian families, providing stable, hope-filled lives for children facing an uncertain future.

Big Brothers/Sisters for Jesus
On the third Saturday of every month, from 8am to 1pm, our Big Brothers/Sisters for Jesus minister to children, age 6 to 16, who have no role models in their homes. Children are matched with caring and responsible adults who spend quality time with them on a regular basis. Breakfast and lunch are included.

CCFL Children’s Ministry
Our mission is to make disciples by creating a fun, loving, and interactive environment where kids are encouraged to grow in Christ. In order to do this, we provide teachers who emphasize love, classrooms that are clean and orderly, procedures that are safe, and an age-appropriate and Bible-based curriculum. We pray that your child’s biblical adventure here lays a foundation for a lifetime of living for Christ!

LIQUID—High School Ministry
Jesus has the real liquid—the Living Water. For this reason, LIQUID, our high school youth ministry, exists to help young people grow in their pursuit of God so that they learn to praise Him, find their purpose, and connect with His people as they walk in His power.

Six78
Six78 is our middle school youth ministry. Our three-year mission is to study and marvel at the creation of the entire universe by the spoken word of God. As we strive to “Know Him Better,” we will see God’s character more clearly. We will discover that even though everything else has a definite beginning, God is eternal, without beginning or end. We will also discover God’s creativity and power and His amazing love for His people, even when they disobey Him.

RAMP 48 PLUS
RAMP 48 PLUS is the skate park and in-line ministry of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. Our purpose is simply stated in Matthew 5:16 (NKJV): “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

What is it about this sport that has so many teenagers on a spin? Skateboarding simply is a sport that’s all about having fun with friends and checking out each other's angles, cuts, and hard drives. If you haven’t tried Ramp 48 Plus, maybe it’s time to take charge of the elements and get out there. Learn new tricks, make new friends, and ride new terrain! Ramp 48 Plus hosts contests, demos, and concerts. Our ramp includes mini half-pipes, a micro-ramp, a vert wall, roll-ins, pyramids, a three-gap-three, fun boxes, a rail of discernment, and much more! We host a Christian skaters Bible study every week and help with skate missions throughout the world.

The Rock
The Rock is a weekly meeting for young adults, age 18 to 28, who desire to make godly decisions in their lives. The group spends time together in worship, Bible study, fellowship, and discussions.

Media Ministry
Making biblical resources readily available to a growing audience is the focus of the Media Ministry. Teachings go out literally around the clock through The Active Word radio and television programs, Reach-FM radio, and live Web casts.

Administration and Support
Serving the needs of thousands every week requires a strong support system—dedicated people working behind the scenes to ensure that every act of ministry can meet the need at hand. Building and maintaining facilities, preparing meals, connecting telephones and computers, training staff members—these and countless other essential tasks make effective ministry possible.

Additional service opportunities are available in over 100 ministries at Calvary chapel Ft. Lauderdale. After orientation, students will have the opportunity to request their ministry assignment through the office of the Director of Student Development.
